A BUSY road was closed for over an hour and a half this morning after a lorry caught fire.
Crews from Bracknell Fire Station rushed to Rackstraw Road at around 9.45am following reports that an articulated lorry was alight.
Crew manager Tim Weekes said: "We sent two pumps and four breathing apparatus and were there for over an hour and a half.
"The fire was caused by the brakes failing; they heated up which set fire to a tyre and that then blew up and burst into flames.
"The lorry driver was fine because it was one of those huge articulated lorry which has a lorry at the front and a trailer on the back so he was able to drop off the lorry and jump in a cab."
