PLANS for a Greggs in Sandhurst are facing opposition from residents.
Jobs were advertised for the new store on Yorktown Road in January before a formal proposal for the bakery was submitted to Bracknell Forest Council later that month.

Since then, fresh designs have been laid out as part of the application showing the eatery would seat 68 diners.
Typically, planning applications like this are approved or refused behind-the-scenes by planning officers.
But because more than five neighbours objected to this proposal, the final decision will come down to councillors next week — meaning it is unclear how the plan will be decided.

In total, eight people objected to the proposal, spelling out concerns which included:
- More noise and disturbance to neighbouring shops
- More anti-social behaviour
- Harm to other local businesses
- Lack of parking spaces for customers
- More traffic on the roads
Sandhurst Town Council members also voiced their concerns, suggesting the slip road would become overloaded if this plan goes through.
Yet despite these worries, planning officers at Bracknell Forest Council have suggested councillors approve the designs.
A report read: “It is considered that the development would be acceptable in principle.

“It would not result in an adverse impact on the character and appearance of the street scene or wider surrounding area, highway safety, nor would the development result in an adverse impact on the residential amenity of the occupiers of the neighbouring properties.”
If the plan is approved, Greggs would move into the former Natwest bank site at 39 Yorktown Road.
Opening hours planned for the store are from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
Six car parking spaces are available at the back of the store with on-street parking available at the front.
Councillors are set to approve the plans at a virtual meeting of the planning committee on Thursday, June 18.
