A DATE has been set for an inquest into the death of a man who died at Broadmoor Hospital.

Aaron Clamp died at the notorious high-security psychiatric hospital in Crowthorne on April 1, 2021, aged 30.

An investigation into how Mr Clamp passed away will take place in a jury-led inquest on February 21, 2022.

At a pre-inquest review today, assistant Berkshire coroner Alan Blake said he estimated the inquest would last at least four days.

The jury is expected to hear from a consultant psychiatrist, a consultant intensive care physician and a pathologist at the inquest.

Before this, another pre-inquest review will take place on December 20, 2021.

The inquest was originally due to take place at the end of August.

Broadmoor Hospital, in Crowthorne, is well-known for its list of notorious patients over its 158-year history.

People with mental illness and personality disorders who represent a high degree of harm to themselves or others are treated at the site, according to an NHS website.

The pre-inquest review took place at Reading Town Hall on Tuesday, August 24.
