Bracknell Forest residents have shared their saddness over the sudden closure of Triple BBB's Smokehouse.

The eatery and bar, on Crowthorne High Street, is understood to have shut its doors this month after opening just three years ago.

The small family business was described as ‘amazing’ by Dale Clifton who visited the Smokehouse during it’s time in Crowthorne.

He said: “Was pretty freaking amazing it’s a right shame I just think it was in the wrong place at the wrong time. They didn’t get off to the best start with Covid etc.”

After opening during Covid, the operating hours were considered a mystery among many visitors who either dined at the restaurant or failed to secure a booking.

Reader, Andrew Palmer said that he found it strange that as a small independent business was only open for 19.5 hours a week.

With a limited time period for people to book a table at the smokehouse, many were disappointed that they were unable to find a time to book a table at Triple BBB's.

Andrew Palmer commented: “It was not run like any other restaurant / bar I've seen. How many other successful small size restaurants you been to open only 19.5 hours a week, 3.5 days closed.

“I walked in a couple of times when the door was open, few spare tables and was told they are all booked. Sad to see a local family run business close.”

Peter Hoare added: “Tried to go there loads of times but it was always closed. A few times we got there at a reasonable time and even though it had people in there, we were told the kitchen has just finished for the night (at about 7pm). Gave up trying.”

Although it was a popular eatery for people in the area, some readers who live in surrounding town’s and villages said that they were not aware of it’s existence.

According to readers, this was thought to be due to the lack of local advertising and limited opening hours.

Seb Dell commented: “I've lived Sandhurst for over 25 years and come over to Louie's lunch and the Friday market. I would have loved to have tried this. Shame they should have used some local advertising.”

The closure has left residents pondering what will replace the eatery.

Famous for its independent businesses, Crowthorne residents have said that they need more affordable places to eat and drink.
