THE LEXICON has taken to Facebook to clarify their stance on photography in the town centre.

This week's Bracknell News included a story outlining The Lexicon's ban on photography without prior permission, as per its terms and conditions.

The town centre is now privately owned following the purchase by Legal and General and the Bracknell Regeneration Partnership.

Today The Lexicon posted on Facebook: "The Lexicon’s photography policy is not meant to stop friends and families taking one or two images for personal use but to safeguard the security and safety of the town centre, our staff and customers.

"We apologise for any confusion that has been caused and have updated the wording on our code of conduct to make the policy clearer."

The terms and conditions now read: "We reserve the right to ask members of the general public not to undertake still or video photography at The Lexicon.

"The Lexicon’s photography policy is not meant to stop friends and families taking one or two images for personal use, but to safeguard the security and safety of the town centre, our staff and customers.

"If the nature of your photography, i.e. length of time on-site and equipment used, is likely to come to the attention of the security staff, members of the general public can gain permission to film by contacting marketing@thelexiconbracknell.com.

"All commercial photography requires permission and more information can be found here: https://www.thelexiconbracknell.com/mediacentre/press-media"

The Lexicon has been contacted with regards to the "security and safety of the town centre."
