A CARAVAN was burned to the ground in a suspected arson.
Flames were roaring from the caravan at New Acres park in Nine Mile Ride, Finchampstead when crews from Wokingham and Bracknell arrived at 3am this morning (Sunday).
Firefighters worked quickly to remove two LPG gas cannisters in the caravan before they exploded and spent an hour putting out the flames which had burned the caravan down to its wheel base.
Firefighter Brett Humphreys from Wokingham fire station, said: "It was completely gutted, gone, 100% fire damage.
"It was going really well when we got there and there was nothing left."
It is believed that it had been abandoned and the fire started deliberately. Police were also at the scene.
The caravan was not near any other properties and the fire did not spread.
