ONE week today residents will go to the polls to vote for their borough council representatives.
Bracknell Forest Council holds elections for its 42 councillors once every four years and seats in all 18 wards are up for grabs on Thursday, May 2, 2019.
The News has put together candidates’ statements so residents can learn a bit about who they’re voting for before polls open at 7 am.
So whether you live in Ascot, Binfield with Warfield, Bullbrook, Central Sandhurst, College Town, Crown Wood, Crowthorne, Great Hollands North, Great Hollands South, Hanworth, Harmans Water, Little Sandhurst and Wellington, Old Bracknell, Owlsmoor, Priestwood and Garth, Warfield Harvest Ride, Wildridings and Central or Winkfield and Cranbourne, we’ve got you covered.
Just click on your ward above to learn more about who’s vying for your vote.
If you’re not sure of your ward, you can find it by entering your postcode here.
For each ward profile we’ve also added your nearest polling stations, but in case you want to check, you can find your nearest polling station here.
Residents who have registered to vote will have received a polling card with polling station details on it, but you won’t have to take this with you to vote.
At the polling station you will be given a ballot paper with the list of candidates on it.
Depending on which ward you are in, you will either be voting for two candidates or three candidates to represent you on Bracknell Forest Council.
These elections are not to be confused with the elections for Bracknell Town Council, which are taking place on the same day.
Bracknell Town Council elections will see voters pick representatives for the central parishes of the borough, whereas those living in the northern and southern parishes will choose representatives for Binfield Parish Council, Crowthorne Parish Council, Sandhurst Town Council, Warfield Parish Council and Winkfield Parish Council.
Polling stations close at 10pm and the results of the election will come through in the early hours of Friday, May 3.
