UNSUNG heroes did another good turn for the area by raising money for the air ambulance at the Pride of Bracknell awards dinner.
A cheque for £1,048, raised through games and a raffle, was presented to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust on Thursday last week to enable it to continue its invaluable work.
Helen Barnett, marketing manager for Bracknell Regeneration Partnership (BRP), which organised the November dinner at The Grange Hotel in Bracknell, said: "We are delighted to continue to support the Air Ambulance because it provides such an invaluable service to the community of Bracknell Forest.
"The Pride of Bracknell awards dinner was an outstanding success and celebrated the unsung heroes of Bracknell and we are very pleased to be able to present this cheque today." The annual awards, organised with the News, are held to honour people from across the area who have made an outstanding difference to the community. Pat Conafray, head of fundraising at the air ambulance trust, said: "We need to raise £2million each year to continue to offer a seven day emergency service. There's no aid from the Government or the National Lottery, it is all charitable donations. BRP supports us extremely well and it is very much appreciated." Don't miss our launch of this year's awards in the Bracknell News soon.
