5.57am: BREAKING: Dr Phillip Lee retains his seat as MP for Bracknell.

Results Dr Phillip Lee (Cons) - 29,606 James Walsh (Lab) - 8,956 Richard Thomas (UKIP) - 8,339 Patrick Smith (Lib Dem) - 3,983 Derek Florey (Green) - 2,202 5.31am: Results imminent, making our way to the count floor! #Exciting #superduper #totallywideawake 5.15am: A quick round-up of turnout, recorded this year at 65.58 per cent, down from the figure in 2010 where 68 per cent came out to vote.

4.46am: It's looking like just under half the wards have finished counting - on the edge of our seats following the national story as we wait with bated breath for our results to be called.

4.29am: Yes, the count is still going, we're now approaching a 24-hour-day and only tea and the warmth of each other's company is getting us through. But the guy you should be feeling sorry for is Jim.

4.15am: News of a possible recount comes after seeing eight wards were counting has only JUST STARTED.

4.10am: Unfortunate news for anyone hoping to make it to bed in the next few hours, rumours abound that there may be a recount for 2nd and 3rd - it's thought Labour and UKIP will be battling it out.

3.35am: Final candidate interview of the night before the vote is announced is with Dr Phillip Lee, Conservative candidate.

He said, if re-elected, that he would be having a lot of "late nights" due to the "interesting" parliament, whatever the result of the election tonight.

He added that superfast broadband, rail links and the regeneration of Bracknell town centre would be his priorities if he was to retain his seat. He said: "I can't believe I'm talking about superfast broadband in 2015 in a place like Berkshire - the place for so many IT companies."

3.20am: Counting has begun! Finally. Apparently it will take about two hours to count all the votes so we may be driving home in daylight.

3.10am: The turnout for Bracknell this year is 65.58 per cent - the equivalent of 53,300 votes. This is down from 2010's percentage of 67.8 per cent. Very surprising as the general feeling on the floor was that it would be north of 70 per cent.

3am: Five hours since voting closed and we're still going strong...well sort of. Coffee is our best friend at the moment and our bag of food supplies is looking increasingly tempting.

2.15am: Running to the count floor again to grab incumbent Phillip Lee - looking very confident and happy for someone who's been out at the polls all day.

2.07am: Richard Thomas also suggesting a personal view, not in UKIP manifesto, that if the percentages of votes for parties do not match up to representation in the House of Commons then the country should look at proportional representation for elections rather than first-past-the-post Also suggests separating election for parliament and election for prime minister - doesn't see much of a problem with Britain adopting a more presidential-style electoral process.

1.57am: Third candidate interview for our sparkling live blog - next up is Richard Thomas, UKIP candidate.

He says he's feeling pretty good about the election, despite the exit polls shaking his confidence a tad and said: "The reception we have had on the door step has been very good. The exit polls look pessimistic for UKIP but who really knows what's going to happen - I don't think those exit polls will be accurate."

1.44am:

1.38am: UKIP's Richard Thomas has revealed his percentage prediction for the Bracknell count: Conservatives 43 per cent, UKIP 25 per cent, Labour 22 per cent and Lib Dem/Green 10 per cent. Will he be right at the end of the night?

1.28am: We now have all five candidates in the house as Tory candidate Dr Phillip Lee and Labour hopeful James Walsh turn up. As they both arrive they also share a handshake too. Very sporting.

1.09am: Green Party candidate Derek Florey is next up to be interviewed by reporter Rhodri Andrews and said he was "excited" by what was to come.

He said: "We have seen lots of support on the doorsteps and I have had lots of people tweeting and texting me good luck. It would be great to increase our share of the votes in Bracknell and it has been a brilliant experience for me."

1.02am:

12.51am: The turnout for the last General Election in Bracknell in 2010 was 68 per cent. The general feeling on the floor is that it could beat that total this time around but we'll bring you the confirmed result when it's in.

12.37am: This election campaign was a bit more special for Lib Dem Patrick Smith whose son Arthur was born just 12 weeks ago!

12.34am: In our first interview with a candidate tonight - reporter Rhodri Andrews got the low-down from Liberal Democrat Patrick Smith.

He said: "It has been a good response when I have been out and about canvassing, but tonight I'm seeing mixed messages, only the night will tell the true result but my first time standing as a candidate has been a unique life experience.

"I have learned many lessons and I will take a lot away from this campaign - I'm very proud of myself."

12.25am:

12.09am: FUN FACT - ballot papers are stored in a Gringott's style vault for 100 years after the election.

12.01am: So, we've passed the 12am mark and Tory councillors are feeling confident.

Dale Birch, hoping to retain his seat in the Little Sandhurst and Wellington ward tomorrow, said: "It's been a different sort of campaign. The Bracknell electorate are very canny - they put the effort into understanding the parties on the door step.

He also says the Conservatives have been very impressed with the 'quality questions' asked by residents, especially young people.

23.36pm: Hall really starting to fill up with supporters, lots of Conservative with some purple and red rosettes thrown in the mix. Some here for the long haul, others hoping to catch some beauty sleep for the borough election count tomorrow - yep, still lots more to come! We'll be here to report it all, matchsticks at the ready.

10.58pm: Reporters Rhodri Andrews and Louise Hill are off to the counting hall to have a scout about and see what's going on. Be back soon!

10.49pm: Our reporter Rhodri Andrews is a local lad and had this to say about the ballot boxes arriving: "Seeing the ballot box arrive which contains my vote ready to be counted is a special feeling. Democracy at its finest."

10.39pm: So, we've spotted the first candidate. And UKIP candidate Richard Thomas has said he is stuffed full of fries and Greek salad and ready for the count.

10.31pm: Just had confirmation that the Crown Wood ward ballot box was first through the doors at the leisure centre.

10.26pm: It's begun! The first ballot box has arrived into the building and will shortly be dished out for counting.

10.19pm: The exit poll has revealed that the Conservatives will be closest to a majority. Will this reflect in the Bracknell constituency?

10.10pm: The counters are taking their seats and are bracing themselves for the long night ahead. They've filled up the hall and the stage is set for the several hours of counting ahead. We'll be here with you every step of the way. Barring a 10-minute nap here or there. Maybe.

10pm: THAT'S IT! The polling boxes are slammed shut and there'll be no more voting in this General Election. The boxes will now make their way towards Bracknell Leisure Centre ready for the mammoth count that lies before us.
