"These people should be recognised": Still a few more days to submit a nomination for the Pride of Bracknell Forest awards

Football star Ady has agreed to return as host of the awards for the third year running saying they are a “special night” for everyone involved. 

The 44-year-old grew up in the town and has encouraged people to “be brave” and enter their nominations for people they believe have done some good for others.

Ady, full name Adrian, said: “I just think it’s such a wonderful event. I grew up in Bracknell for the first 21 years of my life, I went to primary school here and went to Garth Hill before it was a college and have family and friends still living in the area. 

“There are no losers at the awards, everyone’s a winner, it’s just a very special evening.

“Why not nominate someone? There are so many people out there who do so many wonderful things in Bracknell for, to be honest, very little reward. These people should be recognised.

"If you’re umming and ahhing about it, be brave and nominate somebody because who knows what will happen! Just go for it.”

There’s still three days left to enter a nomination for the last awards before Bracknell’s long-awaited regenerated town centre opens in spring 2017, and with Ady on board, the awards ceremony looks set to be a 
roaring success.

Ady said: “I think the awards get better and they bring the community together and that’s important. We’ve seen it before with towns and cities when something big happens they can lose that community feel about the place, so with Bracknell growing and with the regeneration it’s important to keep that community together.

“Thank you to Sean Taylor and Redwood Technologies too for inviting me back to host. I’m really excited.”
