A SPECIAL treat has been lined up for the winners and runners up of the Pride of Bracknell awards.
The date of the awards ceremony has been confirmed for next April and nominations are now open.
But one resident has gone the extra mile to reward the winners.
Louise Taylor, Bracknell Hornets manager, has extended a generous offer to winners and runners-up of the Pride of Bracknell awards 2016 and 2017.
She said: “We really want to give something back to our wonderful community and what better way to do than giving recognition to the Pride of Bracknell award winners and runners-up.
“We all really want to help make these amazing people feel special and to acknowledge just what they have done for our community. We would love to have them as our VIP guests where they will be invited to go into the ice to meet the team and have a photo on the ice with the whole team also.
“At the end of each game we also hand out our Man of the Match Beers to a player of the Away Team and one of our players also so we’d love the whole group to give those Beers over to the players.”
The invitation was part of the attempt for the club to give back to the local community.
Mrs Taylor said: “We have also invited many local schools to come to a home game free of charge by giving them also 100 tickets.
“We feel so strongly about giving back to our community so have invited other schools in the area as well as the junior Bracknell football club. We also have had The Parks Cubs as VIP guests at our last home game.”
The 2018 Pride of Bracknell Awards will take place on Friday April 27 2018.
