A PUB will be converted into housing after the planning committee approved plans.
Bracknell Forest Council had received more than five objections to the proposal, so it went in front of the planning committee.
The Fox and Hounds, in Sandhurst, has been unoccupied for over a year, and now councillors have approved proposals to convert the site into houses.
Six houses will be erected at the site on Hancombe Road, following the conversion of the current pub site.
The two single side extensions will be demolished, and all of the houses will come with attached garages, and there are three visitor spaces, with one of the homes getting three parking spaces.
Councillor Michael Bossard said: “I’m pleased that rather demolish it, this pub should be retained, and converted into a family home.
“I feel the case officer has worked extremely well with the planning developer. This has been a very well thought out plan that I am very happy to support.”
The planning officer noted that after concerns were raised about traffic, that there would be less road traffic generated from the houses than there would be for the pub.
The plans were unanimously approved by the committee.
