THE NEW operators of the Bracknell Leisure Centre have vowed to inject millions into a refurbishment.
Bracknell Forest Council handed over ownership of the leisure centre as part of its contract with the management company, which has now promised a £2.8 million refurbishment.
The gym will be relocated and improved, with £400,000 set aside for new equipment. A new group exercise studio will be built and the changing rooms will be renovated.
Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, resources and public protection, said: “Elected members are fiercely proud of the council’s leisure offer and improving facilities for residents formed a vital part of our strategy when seeking a leisure management partner.
"I’m delighted that customers will see the benefits of this partnership so early on in the contract and that once again Bracknell Leisure Centre will be a modern, welcoming facility where customers can improve the health and well-being of themselves and their families.”
