THE leisure centre management company has defended price increases for swimming lessons.
Everyone Active took over the management of Bracknell Leisure Centre late last year, and since then has increased prices for swimming lessons.
The reason for this is that the lessons are now Swim England accredited, and will run for more weeks throughout the year.
One concerned resident got in touch with the News and said that her daughter’s swimming lessons have gone up in price by 37 per cent.
Mark O’Halloran, Everyone Active’s general manager at the centre, said: “Everyone Active has introduced a number of changes to swim lessons at Bracknell Leisure Centre, with the aim of improving the service and helping those on the scheme to progress more quickly.
“Our swim lessons are now Swim England accredited. They will run for 50 weeks of the year, whereas before they were only available during term time, and children will move up the levels as they progress, as opposed to having to wait for re-enrolment to do so.
“Parents of children on the scheme are now able to track their progress through an interactive app, and those who have lessons with us are given access to all casual swim sessions at the centre at no additional cost.
“Prices have been adjusted to reflect the new offer and in line with an annual review. We believe our swim lessons provide excellent value for money for our customers.”
