THE HOMES built on the old site of one of the town's largest businesses have been revealed.
The old TRL site in Crowthorne was sold off to a housing developer, Legal & General Homes, who have started the first phase of their 1,000 home development.
The first patch, Woodland Edge, will be opening soon, and the cheapest one-bedroom flat will set buyers back a staggering £245,000.
This news comes just weeks after it was revealed that house prices in Bracknell are decreasing.
Figures released by the government showed that house prices in Bracknell Forest fell by 1.2 percent in April, despite a 1.2 percent rise over the past 12 months.
John Allan, Managing Director at Legal & General Homes, says: “We’ve had a fantastic response to Buckler’s Park since we launched in January and are anticipating huge interest once the public has a chance to see the homes in person. We can’t wait to welcome prospective buyers through our doors and show them the real product and help find the perfect home for them.”
The developer claims there will be more than 100 acres of parkland and open space, as well as a brook and play areas. These will all be scattered around the 1,000 homes across 253 acres.
The homes themselves will be broken down into a range of different price ranges and sizes.
Perspective buyers will be able to use the Help To Buy scheme to buy one of the homes, but will still have to come up with an eye-watering £12,000 to place a deposit for 5 percent of the home.
