CREATIVE students showcased their 'talent and individuality' at Heathfield Schools' annual fashion show.
Schoolgirls at the Ascot school graced the catwalk on March 21, to show off their unique handmade garments and accessories, built around the theme of 'Purpose'.
Former creative director for Karl Lagerfeld and Gucci, Stephen Lisseman spoke to pupils in a series of lectures during the months leading up to the schools fashion show in 2019.
The fashion expert gave talks motivating and encouraging students at Heathfield School to ‘express their own individuality and use their own voice’.
Minna Samengo-Turner, year 13 student, said: "The fashion show gives you an opportunity to showcase your garments in a professional environment.
"It is an experience you do not usually get and a privilege to take part in."
Students created their pieces, through print making, painting, drawing and sculpture.
As well as this, pattern cutting, fashion illustration and jewellery making were a key feature of the designs in the show.
Stephen Lisseman, former creative director, said: "I hope to share knowledge and excitement that inspires creativity.
"I believe that one should explore new ideas, push boundaries, in order to make a difference and constantly challenge ourselves to be better."
The show, who were supported by sponsors Brompton Gardens by Berkeley Homes and the fashion expert, provided students with a 'taste' of what it would be like to work in the fashion industry.
For example, students had to photograph the outfits for a Look Book, to dressing the models and organising accessories.
The fashion expert also shared his knowledge to pupils about what it is like working alongside the designer labels, and gave one-to-one tutorials on portfolio preparation, fabric selection and theory of design.
Eve Feilen, head of art and design faculty, said: "Here at Heathfield we are passionate about supporting every girl in meeting her personal ambitions and goals and equipping her for her future workplace.
"Stephen's extensive experience in the fashion industry has given our students an invaluable insight into how their creativity can translate into the world of work."
Every year, students from the school are accepted onto top university courses, such as the London College of Fashion and Parsons New York.
