CYCLISTS enthusiasts will be getting together to take part in a charity bike ride organised by the Easthampstead Rotary Club in Bracknell.

The Three Counties Cycle Ride takes place in June 2, which will see cyclists starting and crossing the finishing line at Garth Hill College.

Dave Donaldson, organiser, said: "The 3 Counties Cycle Ride is an event for cycling families and the seasoned enthusiast alike, with a choice of three routes weaving through picturesque country lanes."

The race is tailored to suit any ability, whether it is to ride a scenic 15 mile route, or to complete a personal best in a strenuous 54 miler.

Last year, over 600 cyclists took part raising £17,000 for charity.

Dave added: "Since the cycle ride was founded in 1983 from the Rotary Club of Bracknell, well over £600,000 has been raised for our charities.

"Last year more than £12,000"

This year, the money will be going to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, Breakthrough Learning, Night Shelter and the Rotary Club of Bracknell Trust Fund.

Marshals will be present throughout the course, guiding cyclists through the scenic routes of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Refreshments will also be available at the drink stations due to the warm summer air and finishers will receive a medal and certificate.
