FOURTEEN large homes are set to be built in Winkfield after plans were submitted to the council.
Six semi-detached three-bedroom homes and eight detached four-bedroom homes could go up at Moat Farm on Winkfield Lane if the authority gives the plans the green light.
A statement from architects Twenty-20 read: “The architectural character of the dwellings has taken inspiration from existing property within Winkfield which has led to each to be individually designed to ensure that the village character is maintained and strengthened with the addition of this development”.
The brownfield site, which is 0.7 hectares large, is located to the west of Maidens Green between Cock Lane and Bishop Lane, is approximately 3.7 miles from Bracknell train station.
Access to the area would be via the site entrance onto Winkfield Lane.
Moat Farm is currently occupied by a group of commercial and individual buildings, which would all be demolished as part of the plans.
A pond would be introduced as part of the proposal, located in a central open space which would remain undeveloped.
Site surveyors believe the plans will lead to a reduction in the number of traffic movements per day across the area.
They also feel the traffic movements will provide “further benefit” to local residents as the majority of these movements will be at different times of the day.
The plot will have 32 car parking spaces, with architects suggesting off-street parking has been provided for each plot.
Existing trees and other significant landscape features will be “retained and enhanced where possible”, according to a planning statement linked to the proposals.
No letters of support or objection have been received by Bracknell Forest Council (BFC).
The application is currently pending consideration.
In January, the News reported on plans to build 42 new homes at Winkfield Row.
More than 40 residents have opposed the plans, with one writing to the council to say if the proposals were granted it would “destroy forever the character of Winkfield Row”.
This application is also currently awaiting a decision from BFC.
