THE ANNUAL Wokingham May Fayre took place across the bank holiday weekend and provided a range of family fun entertainment once again.
The fayre on Monday, May 6 was believed to be one of the largest street fairs in England.
The event took place in Peach Street and Broad Street, where families could enjoy a variety of stalls including a Punch and Judy show, an animal farm where children met farm animals and circus scene street entertainers who were roaming the town.
The Wokingham Lions Club organised the day and are grateful for all the help they have received.
Andy Slay, chairman of the May Fayre Committee, said: “We are very grateful for this year’s sponsors for the May Fayre.
"They include the Wokingham Town Council, Prospect Estate Agency, The Wokingham Society plus a number of other local businesses.”
There was also a range of stage performances throughout the day on Broad Street including Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band, a juggling show, the Rock Choir and various singers and dancers.
The event raises money for good causes across the borough and this year the main beneficiaries are the Me2 Club and Home-Start.
