THE Wokingham Borough Council have revealed that a record number of visitors have attended the Dinton Pastures Country Park family weekend.
Last weekend, June 1 and June 2 the park in Wokingham welcomed over 2,000 visitors across the whole weekend.
The record number of people took part in a range of activities including paddle boarding and archery.
Councillor Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “The sun was shining for our annual family fun weekend at Dinton Pastures Country Park, where we were delighted to welcome such a large turnout.
“There was a lovely atmosphere amongst the bustling shoreline and an equally as exciting mood on the heath as visitors enjoyed some land activities, refreshments and interacting with exhibitor’s displays.”
The activity centre welcome’s thousands of visitors every year with a wide variety of activities on offer, such as canoeing and sailing. During the weekend attendees were able to try out many of the activities on offer for £3 per person, such as kayaking and climbing, which enabled them to see if they’d like to take the sports further in the future.
Cllr Batth added: “This year a record number of guests took part in the activities on offer.
“Our hope is that people thoroughly enjoyed the different sports available and return to the Dinton Activity Centre in the near future to further expand their skills.”
