DOG walkers in Wokingham have been busy raising funds for a Berkshire search and rescue service as part of a fun-filled dog walking event.
The housing developer Crest Nicholson organised the event at their Arborfield Green development on June 15 to raise funds to support Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue.
Residents who took part were able to enjoy a healthy walk through the Berkshire countryside including walking routes along Hazebrouck Meadow and Waterman’s Lake.
Phillip Hurring, from Crest Nicholson, said: “It was great to see so many local people and their dogs come together to enjoy the Berkshire countryside.
“It was a fantastic way for them to see first-hand the expansive sections of woodland and open green space on the doorstep of Arborfield Green, making it the perfect home for pets.”
A range of dog breeds took part in the hour long walk, which included Poodles, Jack Russell’s and Whippets. The funds raised will be used to provide lifesaving equipment to help the team search for missing people.
Andrew Viney, from Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue, added: “We are extremely grateful for the support provided by Crest Nicholson and are delighted to take part in the Bark in the Park event, all funds raised will be put directly into providing lifesaving equipment to be used by the team in their work searching for high risk missing persons across Berkshire.”
