TWO DEDICATED teachers from a school in Wokingham have won a prestigious silver teaching award, which they celebrated on Thank a Teacher Day.

Dean Ralph and Teresa Mason from the Barnardo’s High Close School won the award in the Teacher of the Year and SEN Teacher of the Year categories.

They were both selected from thousands of nominations and are just two of the 68 silver award winners, which were celebrated on Wednesday, June 19 as part of the Pearson national Teaching Awards.

Mark Shears the headteacher at Barnardo’s High Close School is over the moon that their hard work has been recognised.

He said: “We were delighted that Dean and Teresa have been recognised for the commitment and dedication they show to the young people who come to this school.

“It is a huge honour and we were thrilled to celebrate this special occasion with them.”
