AN AWARD-WINNING band based in Wokingham and Reading held their summer concert, which honoured the Queen's Birthday.

The Trinity Concert Band held their summer concert at Leighton Park school on Saturday, June 8.

In honour of the Queen’s Birthday, this years concert programme featured hits from every decade of her life including 633 Squadron, Crown Imperial and Fanfare for the Common Man.

This year the band are offering a Newcomers Scheme, for those who have never experienced one of their concerts before by offering them a free ticket.

One newcomer, said: “It was a fantastic evening watching Trinity Band. Not really knowing what to expect, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, surrounded by friendly people, a wide range of fantastic music and tasty treats.

“The performance was polished, professional and introduced in a humorous and educational way.”

The community-based band were awarded the top platinum award in the finals of the National Concert Band Festival in April last year.

The band will next be performing at Reading University on Sunday, September 29.
