HUNDREDS of keen residents didn't let the weather dampen their spirits, as they took part in a walking event for a very worthy cause.
The first ever Bracknell Together Walk, organised by the Rotary Club of Easthampstead and South Hill Park, saw more than 100 walkers take part on Sunday, July 7.
The Bracknell Forest Mayor, Councillor Pauline McKenzie and her husband Roy also took part, cheering on the walkers.
Despite the grey and showery weather, residents took part in the walk to raise £3,000 for their chosen charities.
All abilities were welcomed on the day, with people who have battled cancer, to stroke sufferers - all taking part in the charity walk.
The event was sponsored by the Avis Budget Group in Bracknell and they provided marshals and a team of walkers.
Participants were given fresh fruit and water, kindly donated by Sainsbury's on Bagshot Road and Waitrose in Bracknell.
Other volunteers on the day were from South Hill Park, Easthampstead Rotary Club, Romans Estate Agents in Bracknell and Bracknell Police Cadets.
