WORKS are well underway for a new academic building which will allow for more classroom space for students in the upcoming months.
The Brakenhale School in Bracknell started construction in March 2018 to improve the facilities of the school and provide enhanced teaching environments for science and technology subjects.
Wates Construction who have been working on the site following its appointment by the Department for Education, aims to complete works by the end of this year.
Jane Coley, head teacher at The Brakenhale School, said: “We are delighted with the progress of the building project and incredibly excited about the big move over.”
The school located on Rectory Lane, caters for over 1,000 students and is today an 11-19 mixed comprehensive secondary school.
Alec Jackman, business unit director of Wates Construction Southern Home Counties, added: “We are proud to be responsible for helping this thriving, rapidly expanding school to evolve into a fit-for-purpose 21st century learning environment.
"Since the school closed for the summer, we have been accelerating works and are on track to hand over the new building soon.
“Our team has extensive expertise and experience in the delivery of innovative spaces for learning and development. We are confident that these new facilities will make a significant impact upon the social and intellectual development of the young people they have been designed to serve.”
