STUDENTS at an all girl's school splashed around in their new swimming pool last week, after months of long anticipation.
St George's School in Ascot celebrated their new £5.6 swimming pool complex on Friday, September 13, which was unveiled by sports presenter and former pupil Kirsty Gallacher.
The impressive indoor six-lane, 25 meter pool adjoins the existing school sports hall and caters for more sporting activities and events.

Liz Hewer, headteacher at the school, said: "I am thrilled with this incredibly impressive facility and the future opportunities this will now offer for both performance swimmers and for health, exercise and enjoyment for everyone. "With the introduction of our new 11 plus and 13 plus swimming scholarships last year, I am confident that we will inspire and develop the next generation of elite swimmers.

"As well as a new facility for our current pupils and staff, we have already hosted our first local swimming lessons and we look forward to opening up our venue to other schools and clubs in the local community.”
