PRODUCTION CREWS are increasingly looking at filming in Bracknell Forest, according to council bosses.
The launch of Berkshire Film Office (BFO) in March has led to Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) receiving more enquiries for the most famous sites in the borough.
A report from BFC Chief Executive Timothy Wheadon claimed “premier venues such as Lily Hill Park and South Hill Park” were receiving the most interest.
The Film Office was created as a ‘one-stop-shop’ which showcases all of Berkshire’s best potential filming locations.
BFO’s website features seven locations within Bracknell Forest which might interest film crews.
These sites range from countryside settings at Pope’s Meadow and Shepherd Meadows to popular Bracknell green spaces at South Hill Park, Lily Hill Park and Westmorland Park.
Town centre location Station Green is also a suggested site for crews, as is The Court House half a mile away.
Councillor Chris Turrell said: “It’s interesting to see the increased interest in filming in the borough - there’s always been this activity but it’s good it’s now actively being sought as our borough does have a lot to offer for so many things.
“If it’s incorporated in various productions then I think that’s a good thing to see.”
In April, an officer revealed legendary production group Pinewood Studios enquired about filming in Bracknell Forest.
Silver screen blockbuster series Harry Potter has featured Bracknell Forest twice before.
Film crews used a property in Martin’s Heron in the first film for shooting the young wizard’s home.
They returned years later to get footage of Swinley Forest for scenes in the Deathly Hallows part one.
Councillor John Harrison added: “I’m really excited about the possibility we’ll soon be seeing parts of Bracknell on television.”
BFC’s top team met on Tuesday, September 24 to discuss the filming enquiries.
