NEW public toilets opened in Wokingham town centre earlier this week.
The loos are the latest addition to Peach Place as the council continues with Wokingham’s regeneration.

Cllr Charlotte Haitham Taylor, Wokingham Borough Council’s (WBC) regeneration boss, said: “We’ve talked a lot to people about the regeneration over the years, and a desire for public toilets in the town has been a recurring theme.
“These new toilets are a great new facility for visitors to Wokingham town centre.
“As with the water bottle fountain, which we installed last week, we’ve been able to fund these new facilities as part of the regeneration works with income from the development funding their ongoing maintenance so they can remain free to use.”

Cubicles will be unisex, with one of them being wheelchair friendly.
A baby change table will also be added to the loos, which are open to the public from 7 am to 4 pm.
Evening hours will be extended to 10 pm from Monday, October 7.
WBC’s Local Loo scheme sees the authority pay an annual fee to restaurants, cafes and pubs to make their toilets publicly available.
Town centre sites Oslar Coffee, the Brown Bag, the Red Lion and Broad Street Tavern are all signed up to the scheme.

The new toilets will be looked after by Savills, WBC’s property agents.
