A NEW PIZZA TAKEAWAY is causing controversy in Twyford – before it has even been set up.
Fast-food bosses are hoping to add a new pizza eatery on Longfield Road next to the existing Costcutter shop.

Developers say there is ‘ample space’ to use the land next to the shops, and that no fried food will be prepared on the site as a gas-fired oven will cook the pizzas.
The shop would operate Monday to Sunday, 10am until 11pm.
Residents are divided over the proposal, however, with those sending comments to the council mostly against the plans.
Fears about more illegal parking and increased accidents at the site due to the lack of parking spaces and the tight road are the main concerns for neighbours.
One wrote: “There is not adequate parking outside the current shops with near-miss accidents where users currently park on double yellow lines.”
Another added: “I am totally against this application as it would increase the traffic on what is already a dangerous bend in the road.”

Other worries included the risk of more anti-social behaviour at the site, noise and smells coming from the takeaway, and litter becoming more common around Longfield Road.
Some objectors pointed out the nearness of other pizza places to the location as being another reason to chuck out the application.
However, those in favour of the plans want the new takeaway to come to Twyford because of a lack of pizza eateries close by.
One wrote: “I am surprised that (there are) more negative comments than positive, even though there (are) very few take away shops in Twyford.
“It would be great to have a pizza shop in Twyford.”
Another supporter said they will be “getting a big pizza” if the plans go through as it would be a “great idea” to have the takeaway added.
Councillor Stephen Conway, ward member for Twyford and member of Wokingham Borough Council’s (WBC) planning committee, said he will be asking the committee to examine the plans if officers suggest the proposal goes ahead.

WBC is still considering the application.
