BOSSES at Ascot Indian takeaway are celebrating after being awarded with a huge national food prize.
Peppermills Indian Takeaway, on Fernbank Road, won National Takeaway of the Year award at the 2019 Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) last week.

Sham Ali, owner of Peppermills, told the News he was “absolutely elated” to have received the award.
He added: “We have worked tirelessly to get to this position and to be recognised as the best takeaway in the country is just incredible.
“It is something that the people of Ascot and the surrounding areas should be very proud of!”

Peppermills has been open for six months after switching from a restaurant to a takeaway.
The eatery, formerly known as Mango, now serves street-food style takeaway as well as traditional Indian dishes.
Speaking to the News in May, Sham said he changed the restaurant to a takeaway as he felt there was ‘more demand’ for ‘Middle East street food’.

The ceremony has been described as the “Oscars of the curry industry” with politicians and popstars on hand to join in the celebrations.
