BRACKNELL FOREST schools are set to receive a £4.8 million boost in funding in the next year.
The Department for Education announced its latest funding plans for each local authority controlled school in the country last week as part of a £2.6 billion education investment from the government.

All schools in the borough have been allocated funding per pupil above inflation rate, but Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) has overall responsibility for setting school budgets in consultation with headteachers and governors.
Rachel Morgan, Assistant Director, Education and Learning at BFC, said: “The school funding announcements by the government confirms helpful additional funds for schools and will enable them to better plan their finances over the medium term.

“All of the money received from the Department for Education is passed on to schools for governors to manage and to cover the extra costs of educating pupils with special educational needs or disabilities.
“The latter is organised by the council but delivered by schools or specialist providers. None of the money is diverted outside of education.”
Bracknell Forest schools have been allocated a total of £74,190,050 for 2020-2021 - a 6.9 per cent increase on last year.
According to the School Cuts campaign, 24 from 35 schools in the borough have suffered cuts to per-pupil funding from 2015 to 2020.
Figures from the campaign suggest £69 per pupil has been lost in this period, with £14.8 million cut altogether.
