Big developments added to Bracknell Forest Council’s (BFC) updated local plan include:

Bracknell News:

  • 4,000 homes, two new primary schools, a healthcare facility, a community hub and more on green belt land at Jealott’s Hill
  • 226 new homes at land at Beaufort Park, Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell
  • 217 new homes at land east of Wokingham Road and south of Dukes Ride

Bosses also want to ensure housing developments with more than ten houses have 35per cent affordable homes.

Neighbours have up until 5pm on Friday, December 6, to have their say on these plans, as well as new proposals for economic development, infrastructure and policies to tackle climate change.

Bracknell News:

Opposition against the plans for 4,000 homes at Jealott’s Hill, where multi-national tech company Syngenta is based, has been growing in recent weeks.

The Campaign for Rural England (CPRE) laid out its objections to the Jealott’s Hill development, pointing out the “irreversible loss” of green space should these plans go ahead.

Bracknell News:

Warfield resident Richard Stok, who has lived in the area for 35 years, has urged Warfield Parish Council members to vote to refuse the plans at a meeting on Wednesday, December 4.

In an open letter, he wrote: “Our beautiful village with origins going back to the Domesday Book and beyond, deserves your love, care and protection.”

Bracknell planning bosses have previously defended the Jealott’s Hill development, and last week Andrew Hunter, in charge of place and planning at BFC, said: “The proposal at Jealott’s Hill seeks to support jobs and economic development opportunities for the borough, whilst also boosting housing supply and providing supporting infrastructure.”

Bracknell News:
