FROM PRIMARY students to a 91-year-old man, a number of sporting have been honoured in the Wokingham Borough Sports Council Awards.

Both teams and individuals all across the borough were awarded for their achievements at the annual ceremony, whether they were competing in local events, national competitions or even international championships.

The event took place in Holme Grange School in Wokingham on Friday, November 22, hosting gymnastics teams, a professional boxer, football teams, archers, wheelchair basketball players, wheelchair rugby teams and a whole host of other sportsmen and women attending the event.

The awards were issued out for many categories, such as the 'unsung hero' award, coach of the year, volunteer of the year, service to disabled sport award, courage award, excellence in sport award, amongst many other categories.

Best Secondary School - The Forest School

U14 Girls - Sonia Runcianu (Pinewood Gymnastics Club)

U14 Bos - Jia Qing David Ng (Maiden Erlegh School, Berkshire Badminton)

U18 Girls - Libby Burgess (Maiden Erlegh School, Saracens Mavericks Netball & England U18 Roses Netball squad)

U18 Boys - Sammy Ball (The Piggott School & Reading Athletics Club)

Female Team Award - Wokingham District Primary Schools Girls Football Team

Male Team Award - Reddam Gymnastics Senior Men

Senior Man - Josh Zeller (Bracknell Athletics Club)

Unsung Hero Award - Bill Rodda (Woodley United FC)
