AMEN Corner’s community is set to ‘stick together and battle’ against controversial plans to redevelop a Binfield industrial site.
Developers want to create eight new storage and distribution units at Buckhurst Moors, but neighbours say this plan will make traffic and road safety issues worse.

One Amen Corner resident claimed expanding the trading estate would be “outrageous” and that they had been subjected to abuse from lorry drivers travelling to and from the existing site.
They added: “We object to these plans and would like to see it stopped as it already causes much frustration from speeding cars and two huge lorries coming from either direction which can take ten minutes to clear the road.
“The residents include families and elderly, all have which have commented on how bad the road is getting... in the behaviour of the drivers and the upkeep of the road itself.

“As a community, we will stick together to battle this and protect our once beautiful residential road.”
The employment space is said to be “dated in appearance” and “in poor condition” and new plans would see four buildings sub-divided to create the eight new units.
Developers say the re-development would “benefit the local community”, as it would “enhance the wider employment area and local economy by creating modern employment floor space and jobs”.
But another neighbour is worried about what could happen at the North View road access point at North View if more cars and lorries are added to the “extremely busy” highway.
They said: “People drive very fast, and use the path as a means of passing other vehicles, this is often becoming very muddy which stops people from using it, and they resort to walking in the road, which WILL cause a serious incident sooner or later.”
Another said “huge trucks” using the road “throw up huge amounts of dust and dirt, all of which make life very unpleasant for those of us living here.”

They continued: “This road is absolutely not suitable for the traffic already generated by the existing businesses and activities, and any further development can and will only make things worse.”
Bracknell Forest Council planning chiefs are currently considering the proposal.
