A SUPERMARKET which has served the heart of Bracknell town centre since 1984 will be closing down in February.
The store, located in Princess Square, will be shutting down for good on February 26.
Employees are being told they can find alternative roles at nearby Sainsbury's stores.
Customers who shop at the store are also being told they can shop in Bagshot Road store instead.
A Sainsbury's spokesman said: "We have spoken to our colleagues to let them know that sadly our Bracknell store will close in February.
"We understand that this will be a very unsettling time for colleagues and we are doing everything we can to help them find alternative roles at nearby Sainsbury’s stores." It is not known what is to replace Sainsbury's but there are rumours it could be Aldi.
Princess Square is currently undergoing a £30 million regeneration project which will see new escalators, lift lobbies, shops and an ‘impressive’ ceiling space with feature lighting.
Works began in early October and are due to finish by Spring 2020.
