PASSENGERS will face delays and disruptions to their journeys this weekend.
South Western Railway (SWR) has said engineering works will take place on January 11 and 12 from Ascot to Reading.
Other lines such as London Waterloo to Clapham Junction, Wimbledon and Surbiton and Portsmouth will be affected.
Lines will be closed and there will be bus replacement services.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "We and our partners at Network Rail are always working hard to maintain and improve the rail network.
"We try to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out engineering works at the weekend or over holiday periods where we can, but this isn’t always possible.
"Network Rail are working hard to rectify this problem, but there is no quick fix and we anticipate the issue will continue for some time.
"We are sorry that this may affect your ability to plan ahead and we will keep you updated on our progress to resolve this issue, which affects all train operators.
