Dr Lee lost out to Wokingham incumbent Tory MP John Redwood on polling day despite increasing the number of Lib Dem votes by 13,839, making the group Wokingham’s second-largest party.

Stephen Newton, the Wokingham Lib Dem Constituency Officer, told the News about the appointment.
He said: “With Brexit on the horizon and so many promises having been made relating to NHS, education etc., it will be really important to hold the government and our local MPs within Wokingham Borough to account.
“Dr Lee will be doing this in his role as Parliamentary Spokesperson as well as providing input across the board as a member of the local party Executive.
