STUDENTS in Ascot have been told to self-isolate after returning back from a school ski trip.
LVS Ascot has confirmed that 32 pupils and five staff members have been told to quarantine themselves with their families for 14 days amid coronavirus fears.
A group of pupils took part in a ski trip in San Martino di Castrozza resort in Northern Italy and returned on Saturday, February 22.
Four students reported to the school that they were feeling unwell and as a precaution, all of the pupils have been told to self-isolate.
An LVS spokesman said: "Over the half-term holiday a group of pupils took part in a Ski Trip in Northern Italy. Four of those pupils are currently feeling unwell and took the wise decision to alert the school at the earliest opportunity.
"As a precaution, all four pupils, and those who had been in close contact, are in isolation.
"LVS Ascot is following all the practical steps as outlined by Public Health England and following guidance issued by the Independent Schools Council.
"The Ski trip, in the San Martino di Castrozza resort, took place between Saturday 15th February and returned on Saturday 22nd February 2020. 32 pupils, a mixed group of year 8 to year 13s, and 5 staff who took part in the trip have been asked to self-isolate with their families or guardians for 14 days."
National media reports have also said pupils and staff at The Holt School in Holt Lane, Wokingham were told to stay at home after returning from a half-term skiing trip to Claviere in Piedmont, Italy.
The Mail Online reports that the girls school took students on the trip between February 14 and February 22.
