He proceeded to do this and spoke explicitly to a blonde woman through social sites Skype and Facebook Messenger.
Her Facebook Page appeared to identify as a woman called Dana from Somerset.
Following a video call where the two took part in sexual activity, the woman sent a screenshot of what had been going on, including facial shots which identifies the victim.
Police said she demanded £300 or she would share the footage with everyone on his Facebook page.
The messages demanding money were in very poor English and he was instructed to download Western Union and Moneygram software to make the payments.
These were addressed to someone called Raziel from the Philippines.
The victim reported the scam to Thames Valley Police and he was told to close down his Facebook page and block the communication with 'Raziel'.
Police then discovered the profile of Raziel is actually from a different country, in Pakistan.
A spokesman for the force said: "This is a worldwide scam and as it is online, it is very difficult to track who is who and as in this case, the girl may be in one country as part of a group of scammers based around the world, to prevent anyone being caught.
"She - may even be a man, posing through texting as a woman."
It is unknown if the victim has got his money back.
