A statement from the firm pointed to the “dramatic reduction” in the number of people travelling on public transport since the outbreak intensified as the reason for limiting bus journeys.

Sunday services will operate as normal for the time being.
Courtney Buses Chief Executive Robert Williams said: “With the government advising more people to stay at home and avoid public gatherings, the number of people travelling on our services has fallen dramatically and we expect that to continue.
“We have, therefore, made the decision to switch to a reduced service from Monday 23 March to compensate for this. We will still be running buses for those who can still travel.”

Concessionary passes will now be accepted all day, every day for those who still can travel.
Courtney Buses chiefs agreed this measure with local authorities in response to many shops and banks limiting their early morning opening hours for older people and key workers.
This means the elderly will be able to travel whenever they need to for free if their journey starts in Bracknell and Wokingham.
