23 businesses will see the first batch of payments come their way with others set to claim their cash in the coming fortnight as forms are processed.
Councillor Peter Heydon, Bracknell Forest Council’s finance boss, said: “My thanks go to the council’s hard-working revenue team, they have been meticulous in ensuring that we get this necessary funding back to our local businesses as soon as possible.
“It hasn’t been an easy process as the team has had to make sure all claims are valid, and the correct level of funding is awarded.
“It’s extremely important we get this money out to our local businesses as soon as possible and while we have written to everyone we believe are eligible.”

In total, £9.4 million will be paid out to support local firms forced to limit their operations during the lockdown.
The grants will be paid straight into business bank accounts to reduce the need for unnecessary travel, as per the government’s restriction rules.
