Elderly residents woke up to see pieces of furniture missing from their garden, somewhere which allows them to sit during the daytime.

Since the theft, police have said there has been no update or arrests made.

Sue Russ, customer service manager at the care home, said: "I feel so disappointed, how could someone stoop so low and take stuff from an elderly care home, especially in this current climate. We have other furniture but that is not the point."

The care home said the thieves stole a small rattan table and chairs.

Ms Russ added: "We discovered it after looking outside the garden room meeting and realised furniture was missing.

"We thought it wasn't missing and that someone may have just moved it or it may have been the activity team who moved it but we looked at the CCTV and saw two males come in down from the side of the care home and climb over the fence."

Police are still investigating the theft.
