WALKERS are being encouraged to keep their dogs on leads to 'protect nesting birds' during this time of year.
Swinley Forest in Bracknell has kept its signs stood tall warning dog owners when to put their beloved pets on leads, especially when entering Caesars Camp, a historical site.

One 'responsible' dog owner took it upon himself to put a friendly reminder on Facebook that dogs must be kept on a leash to avoid disturbing nesting birds.
Matthew Why from Bracknell said: "Ceasars camp is a historical site and needs all the protection it can get.
"I am a dog walker and the sign is there all year round but coming up to nesting season seemed like a good time to mention it."

Mr Why had also mentioned how he had noticed dog walkers not putting their dogs on leads when walking through the site.
He said: "A few here and there certainly, mostly they stick to the pathways but not always."
Bracknell Forest Council also warns people to keep to the paths to avoid disturbing the wildlife.

Their website says: "The hillfort is legally protected, and it is an offence to use metal detectors upon it or damage it in any way.
"Please note that ground nesting birds are particularly sensitive to disturbance by dogs. In order to allow birds to raise their chicks, please stick to the paths and keep dogs on leads during the nesting season shown on the seasonal notices.
