He explains that wherever he goes he still get's a lot of thanks with people "stopping their cars just to say thank you".

Bracknell News:

The postie from Crowthorne spoke to the News while on his round, he said: "I have already had a dozen or so say thank you for continuing to deliver the post. The greatest thing is just the kindness and gratitude that people have shown. It just makes the job as a postman so rewarding especially as sometimes we are the only person that they may see in the day, so to have a chat with the postman can give a sense of normality and brighten up their day when they receive their parcel or a letter/card from a friend or family member."

Residents have offered Darren bottles of water, an applause from people's homes and positive posters with rainbows thanking him for his work.

Darren added: "People stopping their cars just to say thank you, or giving me bottles of water, can of drink or a glass of water when it’s been hot. I’ve had people applaud or say thank you from their homes or as they are out jogging. This gives a great sense of togetherness and companionship and makes my work so much more enjoyable.
