RESIDENTS in North Ascot were treated to their very own gig from a West End singer last week.
Rosie Glossop, who has starred in Kinky Boots the musical and who was touring across the UK with The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert production before lockdown, treated neighbours to an hour-long concert from a safe distance.

The singalong was set up by Rosie’s sister Amber, who told the News: “I haven’t been able to see my sister for a while, so I said to her ‘why don’t you come and do a safe outdoor gig?
“‘You’d be entertaining me but also potentially other young children and vulnerable people in my neighbourhood.
“I knew there would be many others like me in my street in the same position.
“Rosie and I wanted to do something nice to lift spirits and bring an hour of fun and positivity whilst ensuring the safe social distancing rules for people remaining at their homes.”
The gig got underway on Sunday, April 26 with Rosie performing Abba’s Thank You For The Music for residents of Blackmoor Wood.

She then sang songs requested from youngsters watching the show, including musical numbers from Disney Little Mermaid’s, Frozen and Beauty and the Beast.
Before wrapping up, Rosie belted out classics including George Michael’s 'Faith', The Beatles’ 'Hey Jude', and Adele’s 'Rolling in the Deep'.
Amber added: “Everyone was hugely grateful for our little safe event and it really went down a storm.
“It was just so lovely to see a community come together and unite in music and so many smiles altogether.
“I feel communities will be a happier and more friendly place after this pandemic as we’ve all gone through this together.”
Rosie’s fantastic performance has attracted more than 2,000 views on Facebook.

The West End singer will be showcasing her vocal talents once again later this week when she performs for the residents of Lynwood Village — including her grandmother Jilly — from a safe distance.
