A KIND-hearted mum has set up a donation point in her street to help her "amazing" community during coronavirus.

Suzanne Kingston from North Ascot simply put a table outside her house on Fernank Road with a few posters to help Georgie Tindall, a friend she has "made for life".

The donation point has had more than 30 bags of non-perishable foods and toiletries donated each day by random members of the public.

The 53-year-old said: "The donation point is on a busy main road so it is easy for people to stop by. People have even gone out especially to buy what's needed and donate.

"I am so proud to be part of the community, the generosity of the local people has been outstanding. I have met so many people that I wouldn't have normally.

I would have never had met Georgie but now she is a friend for life."

The donation point was set up after Georgie Tindall asked for donations to help vulnerable residents, key workers and staff working in care homes and hospitals.

Word of mouth reached the community of Ascot People on Facebook, so Suzanne decided to pop a table outside and ask her next door neighbours children to make posters for it.

The mum of two added: "I sit in my study and look out to see so many people donating. I will try and come outside and thank them (at a safe distance) and have a chat with them.

"On a Friday, volunteers will collect the donations and deliver them to people who need it most."
