AN ANIMAL rescue charity is calling for dog owners to be more 'responsible' after a deer was killed last week.
The 'terrible' incident saw a deer reportedly injured and killed in Broadmoor, Crowthorne on Saturday, May 2.

A walker spotted the deer lying on the ground and upon speaking to others, found it had been chased by a dog.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is urging dog owners to keep their pets under control when walking near wild animals.

A spokesman said: “This terrible incident could have been avoided had the dog owner been responsible and kept their pet on a lead.
“We ask that dog owners be aware that there may be wild animals present in the area when walking their dog and to keep their dog under control at all times.

“Dog owners have a legal responsibility under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 to keep their dog under control in a public place."
