A FORMER pig sty has been transformed into a fancy summer house on an expansive estate near Wargrave.
The summer house will be used to storing fishing tackle and watching the local wildlife.
It’s in the garden of Lake Lodge, on Wargrave Road, just north of the village. The garden looks out onto the Hennerton Backwater river.

The small outbuilding is towards the north of the garden, and has a floor space of 17 square metres.
The owners built the summer house before getting planning permission, but are now applying for retrospective approval. Neighbours wrote into the council supporting the plans, and Wargrave Parish Council said they had no objections.
Councillors on the planning committee at Wokingham Borough Council will consider the application at a public meeting on May 13. They will then vote on whether to grant planning permission.

Planning agents wrote into the council, detailing the plans. The agents said: “The site is a green field site which has in the past been left and unmanaged as stated by the neighbours.
“The current owner has taken it upon himself to improve the site whilst acknowledging that the area is to be kept and maintained for the benefit of the local flora and fauna.”
