MCDONALD'S customers are being told to act responsibly following complaints from resident's about parking and littering in recent days.

Angered residents said they felt "invaded" by customers parking up on their road and eating their McDonald's in their cars.

The neighbour who lives in Arncliffe, opposite The Keep McDonald's in Bracknell, explained because Mill Pond car park is shut, people are parking on roads and the grass to eat their food.

Bracknell Town Council is urging the "tiny minority" of customers to be more considerate of the neighbourhoods living near the drive-thru.

Councillor Chris Turrell, leader of Bracknell Town Council, said: "I am sorry to hear local residents are experiencing thoughtless and irresponsible behaviour from a tiny minority of McDonald's customers, and suggest you take this up with them. Bracknell Town Council is working with the police and Bracknell Forest Council to tackle the queuing, irresponsible parking and littering.

"Mill Pond car park is currently closed to help stop the spread of Coronavirus. This will happen if people eat food where are no toilets or hand-washing facilities available. Additionally the play area next to it is currently closed on Government instruction.

"Overall, we are keeping the situation under review, to respond as soon as Government restrictions are lifted."

It comes after the McDonald's drive-through opened on Wednesday, June 3, which saw queues of the fans lining up to bag their meals after almost three months of lockdown.

The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, claims to see residents parking on the grass verge and double yellow lines, blocking cars from driving into the road.

He said: "We have to be careful when driving into our street because of the inconsiderate parking. We are aware that the Mill Pond car park is closed because of McDonald's putting more pressure on the street could someone please look into this."
