PARTY organisers have had to announce the cancellation of this year's Wokingham Festival due to the coronavirus.
The announcement was made on Friday, July 3 on the festival's Facebook page, detailing that the 'compromises' necessary to make the festival safe and adhering with the government lockdown guidelines, would make the festival one that "not...any of us would have wanted to attend."

The festival, which was set to take place in the Cantley Events Field, Wokingham over the August Bank Holiday weekend, has been postponed until 2021.
A spokesman for the Wokingham Festival said on Facebook: "Despite a huge amount of time, effort and cooperation from all the authorities involved in authorising Wokingham Festival 2020 the hard decision has had to be made by the Festival committee that Wokingham Festival 2020 has to be cancelled because of the impact of Covid - 19.

"We managed to put together a plan for an event but that event would not have been a Wokingham Festival any of us would have wanted to attend.
"Music only at background levels, two metre social distancing required unless varying degrees of PPE were worn, no crowd singing, Staying Alert whilst trying to have a relaxing time - the list of compromises goes on and on.
"Sad day but we will come back stronger and better in 2021."
